Faller

Spent his youth on a farm in Washington The only boy in a yard full of hens And he made it through the droughts and the great depression and when the bombs rained down he was a man on a mission The Navy earned themselves a boy And he felt himself a man And he earned himself a spot in a cockpit He was ready to take a stand But life doesn't always work out the way you planned Now he's a mountain man With an axe in his hand And he stands just as tall as the pine trees That he falls in the summer heat He's a pioneer, he's a father He's a legend, he's a logger, he's a Willamette Valley faller He had a chance with a ball and a glove Standing behind a plate when he first fell in love He gave up his dream for his country But the war ended before he ever left the runway And so he came home to start a family Still daydreamin about what his life could be Now he's a mountain man With an axe in his hand And he stands just as tall as the...
