Peaches & Nectarines

I look at you and my heart bursts
Like the first
Bite into a nectarine
Sudden and sweet
And you melt into me
And suddenly
I am elsewhere
I’m there
With you wherever you are
Wrapped in your loving arms
Is this what it feels like
To like someone so much
To feel such
Warmth and energy
To feel so free
And yet so captivated
I am on fire
With eyes that never tire
From looking at you
And I’ll run my mouth until my face turns blue
Until my lungs beg me to breathe
But I’ll tell them I can’t yet
Because you leave me breathless
Speechless
This fuzzy feeling makes me think of peaches
Peaches make me think of you
It might seem strange, but I want to be your favorite fruit.
