Take a piece of me and keep it

And I’ll carry you to bed
Lay your pretty head

In a quiet whisper
That you’ll pretend not to hear
And I’ll pretend not to notice
That you’ve always hoped for a love like this
But dreams are for the night
When you are far from my sight
And I am alone with my thoughts
and I’ve fought
