The Heart that Never Stops Dreaming
I have this heart that never stops dreaming
I have these eyes that never stop beaming
I will look at you like I'm seeing for the first time
Like you're in technicolor and I've been blind
My whole life
And once you've seen the glow
It's hard to go back to pretending you don't know
What it looks like
Especially when it feels right..
You'll look at me with half light
Torn between two possibilities that could be both wrong and right
All at once
And you try to strike the balance
But you feel weight on both sides
And you have to even the scales when the magic subsides
You and I are transcendent
Everything I've said I've meant it.
Maybe it's hard for us to keep our heads in the clouds
Cause our ankles are anchored to the ground
By the experiences we've had that have left us jaded
And we're neck deep in the waters we've waded
Just to keep ourselves afloat
And we've carved holes in the world with little anecdotes
That held more weight than people noticed
And when another person can hold it
Can make you feel that your voice matters
The line of morality blurs
As your heart catches fire
And flutters as you walk the wire
How do you ignore
An attraction of the soul?
I have these eyes that never stop beaming
I will look at you like I'm seeing for the first time
Like you're in technicolor and I've been blind
My whole life
